Chapel festival on the Alpe Klesenza

The traditional chapel festival at the idyllic Alpe Klesenza (in the Große Walsertal) takes place on Sunday, August 23, 2026. In addition to a festive mountain service (start of the field mass around 11:00 a.m.), you can expect hearty refreshments with alpine cheese and regional specialties, as well as musical entertainment.

Fresh alpine cheese and a hearty alpine snack will be offered on site.

Getting there:
On foot: From Buchboden via the access path, approximately 3 hours. From the Alpe Laguz, it takes about 1 hour of hiking time. The hiking bus 576 operates to Alpe Laguz according to the timetable.

Another option:
The chairlift in Sonntag-Stein is already in operation in the morning. Take the gondola to Sonntag-Stein and hike from the mountain station of the cable car towards Alpe Klesenza. Hiking time is about 3-3.5 hours.
