Die Reise des Wassers – von der Quelle bis zum Wasserhahn

pending  Sa, 03.07.2027
Saturday 10:00 AM
Duration: 2 hours
Where does our drinking water come from and what route does it take before it flows from the tap?

Water accompanies us every day – while drinking, cooking, washing, and generating energy. But where does our drinking water actually come from and what journey does it take before it flows from our tap?
Together with the chairman of the Außerwald Water and Power Cooperative, Hubert Salzgeber, participants embark on an exciting discovery journey to the Annabach spring above Außerwald. This spring has reliably supplied the district with high-quality drinking water for many years.
At the center of the guided tour is the sharing of knowledge about the valuable resource water. Along the way, we track the journey of water – from the spring catchment to the pipeline network and drinking fountains, up to the hydropower plant and further to the Alfenz.
During this, participants will learn among other things:

  • Where does our drinking water come from?
  • How does a spring form and how long is the water on its way?
  • How is water quality ensured?
  • How often is our drinking water tested?
  • What is the significance of spring protection and careful management of water?
  • What happens during longer dry periods?
  • How is energy generated from the power of water?

Of course, a water tasting is a must: At a drinking fountain, there is the opportunity to try the spring water from Außerwald directly. To conclude the tour, there will be a closing drink with refined water (schnapps) at the Außerwald hydropower plant.
