Stage 1 of this challenging, scenic three-day hike in the Lechquellengebirge, which connects Spullersee and Formarinsee via two Alpine Club huts and requires alpine experience, sure-footedness, and good physical condition, particularly during the crossing of the Gehrengrat.

Tour description

Starting fromKlösterle am Arlberg, the trail initially leads uphill along well-maintained hiking trails towardSpullersee. The ascent winds through sections of forest and open alpine meadows, offering sweeping views of the Klostertal valley. Once you reach Spullersee, follow the shoreline before the trail climbs gently tothe Ravensburger Hütte (1,948 m)above. There, you can enjoy a cozy stop for refreshments and an overnight stay with views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Equipment

Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, rain and sun protection, a snack, a full water bottle, and hiking poles are recommended. Additionally, bring gear for an overnight stay in a mountain hut. A cell phone for emergencies.
