Tour description
The 3-day tour starts at the church in Buchboden (910 m) and leads via Bad Rothenbrunnen (1,010 m) on to the Gadenalpe (1.317 m). From the Gadenalpe, the route climbs steadily to the left past the Diesnerbergalpe (1,626 m) to the Mutterwangjoch (2.025 m). From there, the trail leads along the European long-distance hiking trail no. 4 (E4), over the Gamsboden (2,066 m) and the Gamsbodenjoch to the Göppinger Hut (2.245 m). This is the first overnight stay of the tour.
On the second day, the trail leads along the E4 via the Östlicher Johanniskopf (2,508 m) and the Upper Johannisjoch (2,037 m) past the Formarinalpe (open: mid-June to early Sept.) to the Freiburger Hütte, the second overnight accommodation.
On the third day, the route leads to Alpe Laguz and on via Garmil to the Oberpartnomalpe where you can take a break. Well rested, you continue to the Hinteres Steinbild where you continue along the hiking trail with many hairpin bends and steps through a wooded area into the Huttlatal. From there, follow the service road back to Buchboden.
