Lecture - The Zürcherhaus - Architectural history research
Lecture by Mmag. Dr. Michael Kasper
Since the beginnings of electrification, the Bludenz region has played a central role in Vorarlberg's energy industry. The lecture provides insight into the economic, social, and political dimensions of this development.
The lecture provides insights from early power plants like those in Lorüns and Klarenbrunn, through the expansion of Illwerke in the 1920s, to the region's role as an energy exporter. It will also address the working conditions in power plant construction, the influence on industry and daily life, as well as the changes in ownership structures and supply security up to the present day. A historical look at the energy that moved the country – and Bludenz with it.
An event of the City Archive Bludenz and the History Association Region Bludenz.
