Tour description
Your journey along the forest nature trail begins right next to the water reservoir at Hinterplärsch.
Just a few steps in, and you're already immersed in the fascinating world of the forest. Along the way, numerous information boards provide exciting and educational insights: Why is the forest so vital for both humans and animals? Which types of trees provide raw materials for different products? And did you know that the forest is also a workplace for many people?
The trail takes you through diverse natural landscapes and ends at the Forest Memory game station on the Hinterebene or at Montikel – a fun and interactive conclusion to your forest discovery tour.
From there, the path leads downhill to the Val Blu leisure pool, where pools and sunbathing areas offer a refreshing way to cool off after your walk.
If you parked your car at the starting point, you can comfortably take the bus back.
Example of one station: “The Forest as a Water Reservoir”
Spring water from the mountain slopes between Buchwald and Rungelin is collected using special spring catchments and directed into intermediate storage tanks. From there, it flows down into the valley and is gathered in water reservoirs – such as the one at the entrance to the forest trail – where it is made accessible for our use.
